Grandrieu

Grandrieu is a commune spread across a granite plateau in the Margeride massif, with elevations ranging between 867 and 1317 meters. The landscape is shaped by typical mountain terrain with open grasslands and rocky outcrops.

The ancient road network Via Agrippa passed through this region and connected major settlements during the Roman Empire's presence in Gaul. This Roman road shaped regional connections and trade for centuries.

The Saint-Martin Church, classified as a historical monument in 1930, features old frescoes that represent the architectural heritage of the region.
