Rosary Basilica, Minor basilica in Lourdes, France

The Rosary Basilica follows a Greek cross plan with a circular nave crowned by a dome containing sixteen stained glass windows.

Architect Leopold Hardy designed this Romano-Byzantine structure, which was built between 1883 and 1889 and received consecration in 1901.

Fifteen side chapels surround the central area, each dedicated to different Mysteries of the Rosary with detailed mosaics and Latin inscriptions.

The basilica accommodates 1,500 people and measures 48 meters in length and 52 meters in width, with multiple daily masses throughout the year.

The dome exterior features a gilded crown and cross donated by the people of Ireland in 1924, with the cross receiving new gilding in 2002.
