The Sacred Heart Church features a prominent 65-meter bell tower and stands in a Latin cross form with three naves measuring 56 meters in length.
Constructed between 1875 and 1903, this church replaced the Saint-Pierre church where Bernadette Soubirous attended services before it burned down in 1904.
The church preserves important religious elements including the baptismal font of Bernadette Soubirous from January 9, 1844 and Monseigneur Peyramale's tomb.
Located in the upper section of Lourdes at Place de l'Eglise, the church stands separate from the main sanctuaries, divided by the castle peak.
The structure combines neo-Romanesque architecture with three naves reaching 25 meters in height and spanning 26 meters in width.
