Sées, Historic commune in Orne, France

The town extends over 40 square kilometers along the Orne River, about 3 miles from its source at an elevation of 184 meters.

The settlement started as the capital of a Gaulish tribe, with its name derived from Latin Civitas Sagiensis and later became a fortified town.

The thirteenth-century Sées Cathedral stands as the episcopal center of the Diocese, featuring Gothic architecture with twin spires reaching toward the sky.

The Sées train station connects travelers to major destinations including Argentan and Le Mans, while local markets operate every Saturday morning.

The Musée départemental d'art religieux houses over 2000 religious artifacts, making it one of the largest collections in the Normandy region.
