Erquy

Located along the Penthièvre coast, Erquy features pink sandstone cliffs, heathland, pinewoods, ten fine sand beaches, and natural coves stretching across 26 square kilometers.

The settlement started in the 12th century around a church and feudal mound, later developing into a port that exported agricultural products to Saint-Malo and La Rochelle.

The town maintains an annual rotation with neighboring harbors to celebrate La Fête de la Coquille Saint-Jacques, highlighting its maritime heritage and fishing traditions.

The municipality offices at 11 Square de L'Hôtel de ville provide administrative services to the 3,909 residents and seasonal visitors of this Brittany commune.

Since the discovery of scallop banks in 1962, Erquy has established itself as one of Europe's primary scallop fishing ports, maintaining a fleet of 80 trawlers.
