Ollioules

Ollioules is a commune in Provence about 7 kilometers west of Toulon, stretching across a varied landscape between the Mediterranean coast and inland areas. The settlement covers different terrain, from flat coastal zones to higher hills inland.

The settlement emerged as a medieval community around a feudal castle, whose ruins still stand above the old town quarter. The narrow streets with their arcades recall this early phase of growth.

The Chateauvallon National Theatre hosts performances year-round and shapes the local arts scene. Theatre traditions run deep here, drawing visitors from across the region.

The town connects directly to highway A50 between Toulon and Aubagne, with regular bus services to neighboring settlements. The location makes it easy to reach nearby beaches and coastal destinations.

The area is marked by limestone canyons that rise from sea level to about 500 meters. This steep terrain creates strikingly different landscapes and environments within a single municipality.
