Mervent

Mervent is a rural commune in Vendée that spreads across green hills and hedgerow countryside. The settlement sits where the Mère and Vendée rivers meet, forming the heart of a region dotted with forests and open fields.

The area was shaped in the mid-20th century by the construction of a dam that created a lake where the two rivers converge. This intervention permanently altered the landscape and created a new water environment.
