Château de Chantemille

Château de Chantemille is a medieval castle with a rectangular main building flanked by two round corner towers and a square staircase tower at the front. The stone structure shows both defensive features and residential spaces across multiple levels.

The castle was built in 1470 on the site of an earlier 10th-century fortress that had stood there for centuries. Through the following centuries, different noble families lived here and shaped the building according to their needs.

The castle reflects how people combined defensive and residential needs in the 15th century, creating a home that provided both safety and comfort. The layout with round corner towers shows the shift from military strongholds to family dwellings.
