Philippe du Moulin, a childhood friend of King Charles VIII, commissioned the construction of this castle between 1480 and 1501.
The castle houses the Strawberry Conservatory, maintaining over 40 varieties of strawberries in its gardens to preserve local agricultural traditions.
Visitors can explore the castle and its gardens from April to September, with guided tours available between 10:00-12:30 and 14:00-18:30.
The castle served as a filming location for numerous historical productions, including Jean Epstein's 1926 adaptation of George Sand's Mauprat.
