Museum of Sologne

The Museum of Sologne occupies three former mills connected by a footbridge over the Sauldre River in the center of Romorantin-Lanthenay.

The museum received the prestigious 'Musée de France' designation in February 2003, recognizing its substantial contribution to preserving regional heritage and artifacts.

The permanent collection presents traditional crafts, agricultural practices, and local customs through extensive displays documenting the evolution of the Sologne region.

Visitors can access the museum by train via the Blanc-Argent SNCF line to Romorantin station, by bus from Blois on line 4 Rémi, or by car from highways A71 and A85.

The museum features exhibits about Leonardo da Vinci's unrealized plans to build a royal city in Romorantin with canals connecting the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.
