Château de Fayolle

Château de Fayolle consists of two parallel wings connected by lateral walls with pavilions at each end of the structure. The estate spreads across the grounds with multiple salons, numerous rooms, and an original theater building integrated into the layout.

The castle suffered attacks during the Hundred Years' War and experienced destruction by fire from Bourdeille troops in the 15th century. Later reconstruction efforts led to the addition of new wings constructed in 1766 and 1893.

The chapel contains religious objects from former abbot Alain de Solminihac, including a pectoral cross and chalice that reflect the spiritual history of the place. These items remain visible to visitors during tours of the interior.

Visitors should prepare for uneven terrain and multiple levels within the building as the estate spans a large property. Guided tours are available, and it is wise to check current opening hours before visiting.

The estate encompasses around 55 hectares and includes an original theater building, a feature rarely found in private ownership. This theater once served as a center for cultural activities on the grounds.
