Mirabeau

Mirabeau is a small commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence that spreads along the Bléone River at an elevation of about 620 meters (2,050 feet). The area contains several scattered residential settlements distributed across the landscape.

The area was originally inhabited by the Bodiontiques, a Celtic tribe, who were defeated by Emperor Augustus. It was then integrated into the Roman province of Alpes Maritimae.

The parish church from 1639 anchors the village center and remains a gathering place for residents. It reflects the religious traditions that have shaped community life for generations.

Access comes via National Route 85, which provides good connection to the area. Keep in mind strict regulations against burning green waste; use composting facilities or waste collection points instead.

The territory faces multiple natural hazards including forest fires, floods, and ground movements. A notable earthquake was recorded in 1984, showing the region's geological activity.
