Chartreuse du Liget, Medieval Carthusian monastery in Chemillé-sur-Indrois and Sennevières, France.

The monastery complex includes a monumental entrance gate with bas-reliefs depicting Saint Bruno and John the Baptist on opposite sides of the tympanum.

Founded in 1178 by Henry II, Count of Anjou and King of England, the monastery suffered damage during the Hundred Years War and French Wars of Religion.

The monastery contains twelve original monastic cells designed according to Carthusian principles of isolation and contemplation for religious meditation.

Visitors can explore the remaining structures of the monastery, which received historical monument status through multiple designations between 1972 and 2015.

The site spans two communes and features both a High House for the monks' cells and a Lower House known as Corroirie for material provisions.
