Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois, Gothic church in 1st arrondissement, Paris, France

The church features a central nave built during the 15th century with stained glass windows from both the 16th and 19th centuries.

The bell tower of Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois marked the beginning of the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre on August 23, 1572.

The church contains numerous chapels decorated with paintings and sculptures, including works by artists who contributed to the Louvre Palace.

Located directly across from the Louvre Museum, the church offers regular religious services and allows visitors to explore its medieval architecture.

The exterior walls display a medieval stone carving known as the Boule aux Rats, representing a mysterious figure holding a sphere.

Very nice church just steps away from the Seine and across from one of the entrances to the Louvre. Worth a short visit!
