Château de Ferrières, Renaissance Revival castle in Ferrières-en-Brie, France

Château de Ferrières is a Renaissance Revival castle featuring a square layout with corner towers and underground spaces. Inside, you find reception rooms decorated with paintings, tapestries, and furnishings that show the taste of its former inhabitants.

A wealthy banker commissioned construction in 1855 through a renowned architect, with a major political figure attending the opening in 1862. This reflected the family's economic power and ambition during the industrial boom of that era.

The rooms reflect how a prominent banking family of the 1800s lived and displayed their taste for art and luxury. You can sense their refined way of living through the carefully arranged interiors and collections.

Tours through the main rooms are available, and you can walk around the grounds to appreciate the architecture from outside. The location is accessible by public transportation or car from Paris, with parking available on site.

The original kitchen was placed in a separate building connected by an underground passage rather than included in the main structure. This unusual arrangement kept cooking odors away from the living spaces where guests were entertained.
