The Abbey of La Crête features Gothic architecture with stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and a monumental porter's lodge from the 18th century.

Simon II of Clefmont established the abbey in 1121, with monks from Morimond Abbey creating the second daughter house of their Cistercian order.

The monastery operated 14 farms and multiple mills in the region, demonstrating the economic influence of Cistercian communities in medieval France.

Access to the abbey requires advance arrangements, and visitors can explore the preserved porterie and surrounding architectural elements under guided tours.

The site includes the Hildegarde Garden, created in 2015, which maintains medieval medicinal plant traditions and provides educational workshops about monastic herbalism.
