Lodève Cathedral

Lodève Cathedral is a church in the southern French Gothic style located in Lodève in the Hérault department. Its interior features a wide central nave lit by nine tall Gothic windows, leading to a polygonal apse subdivided into nine bays.

The building was originally dedicated to Saint Genesius of Arles in the 4th century. It received its current dedication to Saint Fulcran in 1410, marking a significant religious shift in the site's history.

The cathedral displays wall decorations from the 17th and 18th centuries, with a Rococo organ dating to 1754. These artistic touches give the interior a refined character that visitors notice when walking through the space.

The main entrance is located on the north side rather than the typical western facade, so visitors should pay attention when orienting themselves. Look for the ornate porch that shelters this entrance and marks the way in.
