Château de Montcony, Medieval castle in Montcony, France.

The Château de Montcony stands with its stone walls and towers, representing a notable example of feudal architecture in the Bresse region.

Constructed in the 13th century, the castle received Duchess Isabella of Portugal during the 15th century when Guillaume de Montcony served as its lord.

The castle bears the coats of arms of successive owners, including the La Rodde family who acquired the property in 1712.

The castle remains a private property and requires advance arrangements for visits, with limited access to certain areas of the structure.

Between 2002 and 2005, the castle underwent substantial roof and framework restoration, receiving recognition for preservation excellence in 2006.
