Château de Gizeux, Renaissance castle in Gizeux, France
The castle extends for 250 meters through gardens, making it the longest residence in the Touraine-Angevine region of the Loire Valley.
From 1315 to 1660, the estate belonged to the family of poet Joachim du Bellay before passing to the Contades family of marquises.
The François I Gallery displays Italian paintings from the early 1600s, while the Grand Gallery features castle depictions across 400 square meters.
The castle opens for visits from April through October, with winter accommodations available through advance reservations for groups.
The castle church contains rare white marble sculptures by Ghislain, director of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in Paris.
