This mountain has been a crossroads for people moving between valleys since medieval times, with shepherds regularly using the paths. The routes established back then continue to shape how people move through the region today.
This peak attracts visitors and locals who come to experience the views and spend time in nature. The wide panorama of the valley below creates a natural gathering place where people feel connected to the landscape around them.
Multiple marked trails lead up from Millau to reach the summit, with options to suit different fitness levels. A 27-kilometer loop provides a gradual approach that lets you control your own pace on the way up.
Along the climbing path, near the fifth hairpin turn, you'll find a natural cave called Grotte du Hibou tucked into the rock face. This limestone formation reveals the geological layers beneath the mountain and provides a cool spot to rest during the hike.
