Château du Fey, Historical castle in Villecien, France

The Château du Fey stands on a hilltop facing the Yonne Valley, with a driveway extending along the surrounding forest.

Nicolas de Baugy initiated the construction of the current castle in 1620 during the reign of Louis XIII, replacing an earlier 16th-century structure.

Saint Vincent de Paul maintained connections with Villecien parish and the castle, frequently interacting with Isabelle du Fey who managed the estate.

The castle spans 103 acres including a 90-acre private forest and contains 28 bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, and a 450-square-meter Orangerie.

Chef Anne Willan established a cooking school at the castle in 1988, adding a culinary dimension to its historical legacy.
