Centre d'entraînement de Grosbois, Horse training center in Boissy-Saint-Léger and Marolles-en-Brie, France.
The Grosbois Training Center spans 412 hectares and provides specialized facilities for trotting horses just 15 kilometers from Paris-Vincennes racecourse. The grounds include multiple racing tracks, a covered track for year-round use, veterinary services, and educational facilities.
In 1962, the French Horse Racing Society purchased the Grosbois estate, which included a 17th-century brick and stone castle, to establish this training facility. This transformation of the historic property developed it into one of Europe's premier harness racing training centers.
The center houses Europe's largest museum dedicated to harness racing history, with exhibits and archives that document how this equestrian discipline developed over time.
The facility spreads across vast open grounds and woodland trails, so wear comfortable shoes and weatherproof clothing for your visit. Plan to arrive during daytime hours when training activities are at their peak and the center is most active.
The grounds feature 40 kilometers of riding trails winding through woodlands and open fields, offering varied training conditions for horses. This extensive network of routes makes it one of the most comprehensive training complexes for trotters in Europe.
