Le Trianon, Concert hall and theater in Pigalle, Paris, France
Le Trianon is a performance hall located at 80 Boulevard de Rochechouart featuring Italian-style architecture with ornate details throughout its facade. The building holds approximately 1,091 seats and contains several spaces including a ballroom, winter garden, and dining area for different types of events.
The building opened in 1894 on land that was once part of the Élysée Montmartre gardens nearby. Following a fire in 1900, it was reconstructed and reopened in 1902 under architect Édouard Jean Niermans, who incorporated steel components from an earlier Gustave Eiffel project during the renovation.
The building became a gathering place for entertainment seekers across Paris, hosting everything from music halls to theatrical productions that shaped local nightlife. Today it continues to draw crowds for concerts and performances that reflect the artistic character of the Pigalle neighborhood.
The venue is located near the Anvers metro station, making it easily accessible by public transportation. Visitors should note that different events take place in various spaces within the building, so it helps to arrive early and familiarize yourself with the layout before the performance begins.
Steel components from an uncompleted Gustave Eiffel project were repurposed during its 1902 reconstruction, giving the building a rare technical link to French engineering history. Few visitors realize this clever reuse of materials, which reflects the resourcefulness of the architects of that era.
