The Villa Marguerite Yourcenar occupies a neo-Norman manor house constructed in the 1930s within the grounds of Mont Noir park in northern France.
Following the destruction of the original castle during World War I, the current structure was built to replace it and became a departmental cultural facility in 1997.
The villa welcomes twenty writers annually from various countries, offering them dedicated time and space to advance their literary projects through month-long residencies.
Located on Route du Parc in Saint-Jans-Cappel, the villa operates Monday through Friday, with sessions from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
The residence maintains a program where three authors per month participate in public readings, meetings, and writing workshops with local community members.
