Vieux pont de Limay, Medieval bridge in Limay, France

The stone bridge spans across the Seine River with eleven arches, connecting Limay to the Île aux Dames through a series of architectural elements.

Dating from the mid-11th century, the bridge underwent reconstruction in 1172 after substantial damage, with its Gothic arch remaining as evidence of this period.

Jean-Baptiste Corot painted several artworks featuring the bridge, with one of his masterpieces now displayed at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Visitors can access the bridge site via walking paths along the Seine River banks, with informational panels explaining its architectural features.

The bridge originally contained mills above its structure and supported local fishing operations, combining transportation with economic activities.
