The Guerville Viaduct spans 360 meters across a valley, carrying the A13 motorway with three lanes in each direction over railways and roads.
Construction of the original two-deck viaduct took place between 1963 and 1965, designed to accommodate the increasing traffic between Paris and Normandy.
The viaduct stands as an example of 1960s French engineering achievements, demonstrating the post-war infrastructure development in the Paris region.
A third deck added in 2019 allows 120,000 vehicles daily to cross the valley, with emergency lanes improving safety on this major transport route.
The structure required specific technical solutions due to its location near protected Natura 2000 areas and limestone cliffs along the Seine River.
