Bourse du Travail, Art Deco concert hall in 3rd arrondissement, France.

The Bourse du Travail is an Art Deco building in Lyon's 3rd arrondissement with a grand auditorium holding 1,920 seats. The interior features geometric patterns and refined materials, designed to serve both labor meetings and performances.

The building was constructed between 1929 and 1936 by architect Charles Meysson as a meeting place for workers and unions. In 1966, it was transformed into a venue for concerts and cultural performances.

The outer wall displays a large mosaic from 1934 created by 35 artists, showing scenes of urban growth and working people in Lyon. This artwork tells the story of labor and community that shaped the city.

The building is located next to the Place Guichard - Bourse du Travail metro station for easy access. Inside, visitors will find the concert hall alongside union offices, meeting rooms, and archives that show how the space continues to serve its community.

The building serves two distinct purposes today: it functions as both a concert and cultural venue and as an active center for labor union work. This dual role makes it a rare example of a place that has remained true to its original social mission.
