Cervione Cathedral, Baroque cathedral in Cervione, France

Cervione Cathedral is a baroque church built with a Latin cross layout featuring three vaulted naves, a transept, and an elliptical dome above the central crossing. Inside, the space is defined by these architectural elements and contains an important organ from the 18th century as well as various religious paintings.

The cathedral was constructed in the early 18th century and shaped the religious life of Cervione for centuries to come. After the church reorganized its dioceses in 1802, it ceased to be a bishop's seat but remained an important place of worship for the area.

The cathedral functions as a place of worship where religious artworks on display tell stories of faith that have held meaning for the community. Visitors can observe how the space continues to serve as a spiritual center where local traditions are maintained.

The cathedral is easy to reach and welcomes visitors to explore its interior, including the artistic works and the historical organ. You should allow enough time to examine the architectural details and appreciate the craftsmanship throughout the space.

The organ has an unusual journey: it originally came from a monastery on the island and was relocated to the cathedral only after many decades had passed. This relocation and the restorations that followed make the instrument a rare musical testimony to the region's past.
