Béouveyre, Mountain summit in Bouches-du-Rhône, France
Béouveyre is a summit in the Marseilleveyre massif within Calanques National Park near Marseille. The peak rises prominently above the surrounding Mediterranean landscape and offers views across the coastline and offshore islands.
The mountain has long served as a natural boundary between Marseille's urban expansion and the Mediterranean coast. This geographical position helped preserve the Calanques landscape from development.
Local residents frequently organize guided walks to the summit, sharing knowledge about Mediterranean flora and geological formations with visitors.
The hike begins from Chemin des Goudes and follows blue-marked trails to the summit. Allow several hours for the round trip and bring plenty of water, as the route offers limited shaded areas during sunny days.
From the summit, hikers see both Marseille and several Mediterranean islands in one view. This panorama shows how close wild countryside remains to the urban coastline.
