Château de Coat-Couraval

Château de Coat-Couraval is a medieval manor house in Glomel with an irregular stone facade. The building features decorated entrance doors and three dormer windows positioned across its front.

The manor was built in 1430 for the Bouteville family and later passed through the hands of several other noble families. These changes of ownership shaped the building's history over the centuries.

The building shows the typical architectural style of manor houses in inland Brittany, with features that have been preserved over centuries. The design reflects how people in this region lived and built their homes.

The exterior of the building and its French-style terraced gardens are open for public visits. Tours can be arranged by appointment, so it is best to contact ahead to plan your visit.

The manor includes a partially constructed tower that served as additional living space rather than for defense. This unfinished tower offers interesting insights into the building methods and way of life from that era.
