Château de Gallerande, Medieval castle and natural heritage site in Luché-Pringé, France.

Gallerande Castle features a main building with a wing, four cylindrical towers and two square towers surrounded by wooded grounds.

The initial fortress from the 12th century became the property of the Clermont-Gallerande family after Robin II married the heiress in 1210.

The architectural elements of the castle demonstrate the transition between medieval and Renaissance styles in the Sarthe region.

The site, private property since 1822, opens exceptionally during heritage days for guided tours.

The Douet chapel, built in 1275 and rebuilt in 1647, endured English attacks during the Hundred Years War.
