The castle combines medieval architecture with Renaissance features, positioned along the Loire River with four hectares of gardens and terraces.
The Hurault family acquired this medieval residence in 1341 and transformed it through centuries, adding classical elements during the 18th century.
Catherine de Medicis and Marie de Medicis frequently visited the castle to benefit from its mineral springs, which were known for their healing properties.
The castle opens from 10 AM to 4 PM, with adult admission at 10€, children at 5€, and group rates at 8€ per person.
The gardens, lost for two centuries, undergo restoration based on original Renaissance plans discovered by the current owners twenty years ago.
