Château de Saint-Geniès-Bellevue, Historical castle in Saint-Geniès-Bellevue, France
The brick castle features a central rectangular tower, two lateral wings added in the 18th century, and a southeast turret mounted on a decorative console.
The castle underwent major reconstruction between 1580 and 1600 during the religious wars, before the Lassus family acquired the property in 1742.
The protected architectural elements include an ornate fireplace in the main hall and a Renaissance-style staircase with period-specific decorative features.
Visitors can explore the castle each afternoon from July 1st to August 9th, with the last admission at 4:30 PM.
The entrance gate displays terracotta chimera sculptures and leads to a green theater with a nymphaeum within the castle grounds.
