Château de Jussy

Château de Jussy is a 17th-century fortress featuring a distinctive H-shaped plan built from brick and stone. A moat filled with water from the Craon river surrounds the entire structure.

The Gamaches family commissioned the fortress between 1590 and 1650 and kept it for more than a century. In 1759, Pierre Philippe Labbe de Chamgrand purchased the property, beginning a new chapter for the place.

The castle contains clothing from the 17th to 19th centuries, with many pieces belonging to ancestors of those who live here today. These garments offer a personal look at the family whose story is woven into the place.

The grounds are open to visitors from May through September, allowing you to explore the architecture and gardens at your own pace. Wearing comfortable shoes is wise, especially when walking through the landscaped areas and along pathways.

The romantic park was designed in the early 19th century and features curved walkways and manicured lawns throughout its grounds. Ancient trees border a grand canal that becomes the focal point of the landscape.
