Château de Keriolet

Château de Keriolet is a Gothic Revival castle in Concarneau featuring pointed arches, decorated turrets, and carved stonework across its facades. The structure was built over two decades beginning in the 1860s and represents the architectural style of that era.

Russian noblewoman Zénaïde Yusupov commissioned architect Joseph Bigot in 1863 to build this residence. The project took twenty years to complete and reflects the growing influence of Gothic Revival architecture across Europe.

The statues scattered across the grounds depict French historical figures like Vercingetorix and Joan of Arc. These monuments reveal how the original owner wanted to express her connection to France.

The castle is open for guided tours and hosts various events throughout the year, including theatrical performances and seasonal celebrations. Visitors should check ahead to see what activities are scheduled during their planned visit.

From 1997 to 2001, the castle hosted the Astropolis electronic music festival. This unexpected use of a historic structure for contemporary music remains part of its story and draws visitors interested in that era of events.
