Château de la Celle

Château de la Celle is a castle in La Celle-Saint-Cloud with a symmetrical central structure featuring two side pavilions topped by distinctive long-sloped roofs. The complex includes multiple wings built at different periods, preserving classical French architectural design throughout its layout.

The main building was constructed in 1616 for Claude Sandras, replacing an earlier structure that monks from Saint-Germain-des-Prés had built during the sixteenth century. Architect Jean Cailleteau significantly modified the estate between 1748 and 1750, reconstructing the central section and adding extensive stables along with a redesigned west wing.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains this historical monument for diplomatic events and official gatherings near Paris.
