The castle features an L-shaped layout with two rounded towers on the north side and one tower on the south, all covered with flat tiles.
Construction began in the late 16th century under Jean de Saint-Martin, with major renovations in 1640 by Bertrand de Saint-Martin and Marie de Lucmayours.
The monograms of Bertrand de Saint-Martin and Marie de Lucmayours remain visible on various ceilings and the dome of the main staircase.
The castle received monument historique classification in 1994, protecting its architectural elements and ensuring preservation for future generations to visit.
During the French Revolution, the estate was confiscated and transferred to a merchant before Arnaud Daguerre, a Bayonne bourgeois, acquired it in 1804.
