Chateau d'Asnières, 18th century castle in Asnières-sur-Seine, France

The limestone castle features grand staircases with iron railings, ornate Rocaille decorations, and carefully restored gilded woodwork throughout its interior spaces.

Marc-René d'Argenson commissioned architect Jacques Hardouin-Mansart de Sagonne to construct this residence between 1750 and 1752, spending 75,000 livres on the property.

The castle hosted international festivals, including a major choral event in 1850 that gathered 25,000 participants from France and Belgium.

The castle now serves as the headquarters of the French Chess Federation and functions as a venue for cultural events and business gatherings.

Three original decorative panels, lost for nearly a century after 1897, returned to their initial location in the gallery following their rediscovery in 1996.
