Château d'Avrilly

Château d'Avrilly is a castle in Trévol in central France with medieval origins and later expansions. The building displays varied facades with six towers of different shapes arranged around a square layout and surrounded by formal gardens.

Construction began in the 15th century as a fortified residence for the financial officials of the Dukes of Bourbon. Major changes came in the 17th century, which altered the building significantly.

The name reflects its medieval roots and defensive purpose from centuries ago. Walking around the grounds, you notice the layout still follows the old fortified design.

The estate can be accessed through three vacation rental locations that accommodate up to 24 guests total. Interior tours are available during the summer months, allowing you to explore the rooms thoroughly.

In 1909, the military airship La République crashed near the castle entrance, leaving a mark on aviation history. This event led to the creation of a memorial monument in the town that commemorates the incident.
