Château du Saussay, Louis XIII style château in Ballancourt-sur-Essonne, France

The château consists of two 18th-century buildings facing each other at the entrance of a park encircled by water features and gardens.

Originally constructed on the site of a 15th-century fortress, the property belonged to Olivier Le Daim, who served as barber to French kings from Louis XI to Louis XV.

The reception rooms display artifacts and furnishings that reflect the lives of numerous historical figures who resided within these stone walls over centuries.

The château provides guided tours through its grounds, allowing visitors to explore the architectural elements, gardens, and historical rooms throughout the property.

The château appeared in two major films: 'The Day of the Jackal' in 1973 and 'Dangerous Liaisons' in 1988, serving as a backdrop for these productions.
