Château d'Aubigny

Château d'Aubigny is a castle in Coincy with a single floor, low-sloped roof, and windows featuring stone mullions from earlier periods. The building is home to the owners who welcome visitors on selected occasions.

The castle first appeared in records during the 15th century and later belonged to the families de Vy and de Roucel. After damage from the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt and maintained its form through the centuries.

The castle still bears traces of its use as a hospital during the 1870 war. The family preserves memories from this period that visitors can discover through a film shown on the grounds.

The castle is not open to the public on regular days but welcomes visitors during special events like European Heritage Days. It is best to check ahead for available visiting times and plan your trip around these occasions.

The gardens feature cone-shaped yews and boxwood hedges that have been carefully trimmed for over two centuries. This distinctive topiary style reflects the long-standing care the owners have devoted to maintaining the grounds.
