Château de Trédion, Medieval castle in Trédion, France

The stone fortress stands within extensive grounds featuring a 300-year-old oak tree, garden sculptures, and a stream running through landscaped parks.

The castle belonged to the Dukes of Brittany in 1350 and underwent major renovations between 1851 and 1859, expanding from 9 to 34 rooms.

The castle received notable guests including King Francis I, Queen Mother Catherine de Medici, and Charles IX during their royal visits in the 16th century.

The castle and its grounds remain open from Easter to All Saints Day, with visiting hours from 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 19:00 Monday through Saturday.

A 2-kilometer walking trail through the park includes 18 stages where visitors search for golden coins supposedly hidden by korrigans, mythical Breton creatures.
