Château du Pin

Château du Pin is a fortified house in Fabras featuring three levels, four corner towers, and a central tower built into the Ardèche landscape. The structure displays defensive architecture with vaulted rooms and French-style ceilings throughout its interior.

Construction began in the 12th century under the Chanaleilles family and was completed in 1592. The building's final form emerged during the Wars of Religion, which influenced its defensive design.

The castle operates as a contemporary art center where exhibitions fill the vaulted rooms throughout the year. Visitors experience artistic projects within these historic spaces.

The property opens from May through August, with guided tours available Thursday to Sunday in the afternoon and early evening. The terraced grounds require some walking, so comfortable footwear is recommended.

The grounds contain seven terraced gardens cultivating over 130 rose varieties alongside contemporary sculptures. This blend of historical structures and modern garden design earned official recognition as a 'Remarkable Garden' from France's Ministry of Culture.
