The Château de la Marquetterie stands on a hillside near Épernay, featuring an 18th-century Louis XV architecture with surrounding vineyards and cellars.
Pierre-Charles Taittinger purchased the château in 1932 after discovering it during World War I when Generals Castelnau and Joffre established their headquarters there.
The château served as a meeting place for French intellectuals, with writer Jacques Cazotte hosting literary figures such as Voltaire and André Chénier.
The estate conducts guided tours through its vineyards and cellars, allowing visitors to learn about champagne production methods and sample their wines.
The original vineyard adjacent to the château was called Les Folies de la Marquetterie and Brother Oudart, who managed it, contributed to champagne development.
