Château de la Montagne, Manor house in Saint-Honoré-les-Bains, France
The castle stands on the southeastern foothills of Morvan, encompassing 25 hectares of land with more than twenty protected structures including stables and a tower.
Originally constructed in the 14th century as a fortress, the castle underwent major renovations in the 18th century under architect Jean-Baptiste Caristie's direction.
The estate includes an exceptional pottery workshop with two furnaces, mixing equipment, settling tanks, and a faience manufacturing facility.
Guided tours run from April to September, requiring advance reservations for groups of ten or more people at a cost of 10 euros per adult.
The grand staircase contains a terracotta sculptural group by Pierre-Louis Rouillard depicting a wild boar hunt, classified as a historical monument.
