Château de la Roche-Mailly

Château de la Roche-Mailly is a castle with cylindrical and rectangular towers displaying gothic-style elements in its design. The roof and facade structures demonstrate the construction quality and architectural details typical of the 19th century.

The castle was completely rebuilt between 1836 and 1842 according to designs by architect Pierre-Félix Delarue for Count Adrien de Mailly Nesle. This reconstruction represented the creation of a grand residence aligned with the architectural ideas of that period.

The name reflects the family who built it, and the gothic-style design shows how nobility chose to display their status through architecture. Walking around the building, you can see how these design choices made a statement about power and taste during that era.

The castle is now a private residence and cannot be visited from the inside. From the outside, you can observe the architectural features and the surrounding landscape of the Pays de la Loire region.

The estate includes an ornamental garden with pathways and an orchard laid out from the late 1700s. These garden areas remain part of the property's heritage, though they are typically closed to visitors.
