The castle, designed by architect Pierre-Félix Delarue, underwent complete reconstruction between 1836 and 1842 for Count Adrien de Mailly Nesle.
The facades and roofs of the castle received historical monument status on October 29, 1975, representing 19th-century French architecture.
The castle, now a private residence, stands in the Pays de la Loire region, near the former provinces of Maine.
The estate includes an ornamental garden from 1787 and 1840, with an orchard and pathways listed in the cultural heritage inventory.
