Château de Valgenceuse

Château de Valgenceuse is a neoclassical manor set within eight hectares of landscaped grounds near Senlis. The estate features boxwood-lined paths, statuary, water features, and an orangerie situated along the Nonette River.

The estate's earliest known owner dates to 1396, when the dean of Saint-Frambourg Chapter held the property. The present château structure was built in the late 18th century following neoclassical design principles.

The name reflects a family lineage deeply connected to the property through the centuries. One can observe how the carefully designed spaces were meant for owners and their guests to gather and spend time together.

The property is located in Senlis along Route de Nanteuil and functions as a private residence. To visit the grounds, prior arrangements with the owners must be made in advance.

The château's exterior walls contain specialized niches that were purpose-built to display classical statues and busts. These carved recesses allow the building itself to become a gallery for sculpture.
