Gorges de Colombières, Mountain gorge and hiking trail in Colombières-sur-Orb, France.

Gorges de Colombières is a canyon with steep rock faces and natural swimming pools situated along a stream, surrounded by chestnut woodland. The route passes through this landscape with several stretches that vary in difficulty and offer different views at each turn.

The location shows traces of the past through old Roman roads that are incorporated into sections of the current trail. Early inhabitants left behind cave dwellings embedded in the rock faces, which were used across generations.

The gorge draws people who want to move through nature and swim in natural pools during warm months. The stream and rock faces shape how visitors experience their time here, creating an easy connection between the landscape and their own senses.

The trail requires sturdy shoes and it is wise to start early in the morning to have enough time and encounter fewer people. Water is available along the route, but it is better to bring your own to ensure you have enough throughout the day.

Along the route there are several climbing spots such as Brétouyre and Tabarié that are used by climbers and shape the experience for different activities. A traditional stone arch bridge connects sections of the path and shows old craftsmanship in the terrain.
