Jardin du Ranelagh, Urban park in 16th arrondissement, Paris, France.
Jardin du Ranelagh is an urban park spanning about 6.5 hectares with winding paths, sculptures, and open lawns. Century-old chestnut and beech trees shade the grounds and create green spaces for walking and sitting.
The garden was created in 1860 by engineer Adolphe Alphand during Paris's Haussmann modernization. It was designed following English garden principles and transformed the site into a public space for the city.
A historic puppet theater here stages traditional performances from March to November, drawing families who return year after year. The garden serves as a gathering place where neighbors meet and children experience their first theatrical moments.
Several entrances provide access near La Muette and Ranelagh metro stations on line 9. The garden remains open throughout the day, giving you plenty of time to explore different areas and rest.
An old railway line called La Petite Ceinture winds through the garden and now serves as a natural habitat. The abandoned tracks support local plants and wildlife within this urban setting.
