Le Parnasse, Sports arena in Nîmes, France
Le Parnasse is a multipurpose sports hall in Nîmes with three separate tribunes that can accommodate around 3,000 spectators total. The indoor space provides facilities for handball, fencing, archery, and other sporting events.
The hall opened in 1993 and was built for the Mediterranean Games, an important regional sporting event. Architects Vittorio Gregotti and Marc Chausse designed the building for this special occasion.
The venue carries the name of a famous Parisian district and has long served as home to several local sports clubs. It functions as a gathering place for the community to watch handball matches and other events that shape the city's sports life.
The hall sits in a convenient location near the highway and is easily reached by public transport. Bus lines and a tram connect the site with other parts of the city.
The building hosted several international championships such as the 2001 World Fencing Championships. High-level archery competitions also took place here in different years.
